In an exciting match on Tuesday 27th March, Frome Wessex initially
lagged behind Warminster with marks in the Digital Images section but
we then surged ahead, building up a substantial lead. Warminster just
pipped us in the Print section but the lead we had built up with the
Digital section was more than enough to carry us through to an overall
convincing win against worthy opponents.

Congratulations to all participants but particularly to our top
scorers: Loveday Powell with an impressive 20 + 19, Andrew Washington
20 and Martin Bax 20 while Alan Denison and David Chown both scored

There was a good showing of members at Warminster for the battle. Many
took their prints home with them but the remaining prints can be
collected at our club night on 13th April which is also the hand in
for our club Diptych/Triptych competition.

This was also the date originally designated as the hand in for our
will be accepted on April 13th* but the final deadline has now been
extended a week to April 20th. Just to remind you though, the
selection will be for one digital image and one print (different
images) in the following 15 categories: Curves, Unusual perspectives,
Happiness, Pencils, Glasses, Shoes, Portraits with hats, Food, On the
beach, Triptych, Dance, Street, Purple, Light and Shadow, Music. The
title of image and photographer’s name only under each digital image
please and printed images mounted on 400mm x 500mm board with image
title and photographer’s name only on the back but no text on the

*The Tri-battle is another example of the type of a competition where
less established members are really up with a chance of being selected
to represent the club in a battle so don’t hold back – take your lead
from Martin Bax, a new member this year, whose Digital Image was not
only selected for the match against Warminster but who was one of the
top scorers! We will need lots of images so enter as many categories
as you wish with both prints and digital images – up to 2 per
category. This could be a heavy load but I’m up for it.
