Thirteen members chose to go to Tuscany in Italy for the club holiday. The front page picture shows the group taken on the steps of the Villa Baciano in Capolona by Alan Denison.
Loveday superbly organised the trip to the Villa, together with a pool on site it proved to be a popular centre.
The property was most enjoyable with the group surrounding an large open fire each evening in one of the dining rooms to discuss the days events.
David allowed himself, together with his apprentice (Deanne) to organise and prepare a BBQ. That was very well received.
Using several cars the group went many ways - visiting Pisa, Lucca, Arrezzo, other local towns and villages some on a scenic tour taking in the wonderful landscapes and others to Florence by rail.
Discussions each night brought together the many finds along the way. Many pictures were taken and in due course some will appear on this page.
One unexpected extra was the running of the Mille Miglia. A car rally that was started many years ago. The event travelled through Tuscany on its way to Rome. This was a must for the majority and a suitable roadside cafe was found to view these nostalgic motors from. All ranging from 1927-1957. Alas some of us could remember a lot of them!
